In a first-time exchange program with the University of Iceland, USM and Icelandic students alike discuss what they learned in their host countries. During The Samstarf Project, students worked for two months in their host school's graduate public health program.

USM's Upward Bound program reaches 127 area high schoolers, beginning in their sophomore year, to help them develop the skills they need to get into and succeed in college. They'll learn about the SATs, financial aid, get detailed classroom work, and more.

USM's Gateway to Opportunity program helped 22 local high school students develop new skills. Two groups of students spent three weeks on campus learning filmmaking basics from students and faculty of the Communication and Media Studies program.
