| Congratulations to four University of Southern Maine (USM) student veterans — Omar Andrews, Mary Swanson, Kelsey Earley, and Rudy DaRocha — for placing second in the Student Veterans of America National Business Plan Competition. The winning plan involves increasing awareness of the Husky Vets group on campus.

| Thanks to an exclusive internship program between USM and the Maine Medical Center Research Institute, students like senior Ron Helderman are able to embark on groundbreaking research studies. Ron has been mastering histomorphometry, one of the most advanced tools available to study bone disease.
