"Project Imagine" Takes Off
The University of Southern Maine (USM) and Youth in Action: Side x Side are partners in a $1.9 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education to be used for "Project Imagine." During this innovative four-year arts education program, USM education students will work as interns to develop arts curriculum for Portland Public Schools. Read more.
 
 
 
 
 
Event Brings World-Renowned Author to Campus
On Nov. 5, Walter Isaacson, best-selling author of Steve Jobs, will speak at the annual WEX USM Leadership and Creativity Event Series about his new book on the geeks, geniuses, and entrepreneurs who created the digital revolution. The event benefits the WEX Scholarship Fund and is open to the community. Learn more.

Athletes Recognized for their Achievements
Recently, USM recognized a record number of students who have achieved success both in the classroom and in the competitive sports arena. The 148 student athletes will be honored for their academic accomplishments at the 27th annual William B. Wise Scholar-Athlete Awards Dinner in November. Read more.
