Huskies Give Back
Student volunteers headed out into the Portland, Gorham, and Lewiston-Auburn communities during the 6th annual University of Southern Maine (USM) Husky Day of Service. They cleared trails, served food to the hungry, helped at an animal shelter, and contributed their time and energy to many organizations in the metro area. Read more.
 
 
 
 
 
Shadowing Shakespeare: USM Theatre
USM Theatre broke new ground with its production of Shakespeare's As You Like It. The show featured a full cast of American Sign Language interpreters shadowing the actors on stage. It was a first for Maine — and a great example of how USM is making theatre more accessible to a wider community. Read the review.

Summer Internship "Ties it together"
A prestigious internship with the internationally renowned Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival video production team this summer seems tailor-made for Brittany Pace. A double major in media studies and theatre, she's also an accomplished dance teacher and choreographer. Read more.

USM Wrestler Wins Elite 89 Award
Philosophy major Dan Del Gallo is one of the country's top wrestlers for his weight class. He's also a top student, with a 4.0 GPA. This combined achievement earned him the NCAA Elite 89 Award, recognizing the "true essence of the student-athlete," presented during the Wrestling National Championships in March. Read more.
